NZ FUNDING FOR TELECAREPeople who qualify under a Disability Allowance through Work and Income may be eligible to have their Medical Alarm fully paid for.In order to receive assistance through the Disability Allowance, an application must be made to Work and Income. Certain criteria applies and it must show that a Medical Alarm is necessary for normal daily living. It must also be shown that without it, life or health would be at risk and/or the disability would be aggravated. PAV enhances the confidence of frail, older people and people with disabilities, who are isolated and vulnerable, to live independently in their own home by providing contact 24 hours a day.To be eligible for PAV you must be assessed by one of the designated PAV assessment agencies.
